Winners of the children's and youth literary contest 'Cervantes'

The "Patio de Cristales" of the Regional Archaeological Museum, located in the Plaza de las Bernardas in Alcalá de Henares, has hosted this afternoon the awards ceremony of the XXXV edition of the "Cervantes" Children's and Youth Literary Contest, convened by the Department of Education of the City Council of Alcalá de Henares.

The event was attended by the Mayor, Javier Rodríguez Palacios, the Third Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Education, Diana Díaz del Pozo, the Councilor for Equality, Patricia Sánchez, the Councilor for Youth and Children, Alberto González, as well as the councilors Miguel Mayoral (Citizens), Javier Villalvilla (PP) and Antonio Villar (VOX).

Primary and secondary schoolchildren enrolled in educational centers in the Community of Madrid have attended this contest. Based on age, five participation categories have been established, as well as a special category with two prizes awarded by the Department of Equality.

Schoolchildren from 56 primary and secondary schools have participated, of which 18 centers are from Alcalá de Henares and 38 from the rest of the Community of Madrid. In total, 1,127 works have been presented.
